Bao Le LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”) builds NailDesk, point-of-sale software used by nail salons. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and what choices you have.
If you are a salon customer, the salon you visit keeps your visit records in NailDesk, the software it uses. For text messages, NailDesk (Bao Le LLC) is the sender: we send them from our own number, only if you ask for them, and we keep the record of your consent.
Information we handle
- Contact details — name, mobile number, and, if you give them, your email and your birthday (month and day only, for a birthday greeting or offer where the salon has one).
- Visit history — appointments, services, technician preferences and payment records.
- Consent records — the exact wording shown to you when you agreed to receive messages, and the date you agreed.
We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Card payments are handled by the salon's payment processor.
Text Messaging
NailDesk sends text messages about your visits to salons that use NailDesk, to customers who have asked for them. Texts are optional.
What is sent
Texts about your visit: confirmations, reminders, a message when your technician is ready for you, changes or cancellations, and a thank-you after your visit.
Offers and promotions are a separate program: sent only if you separately say yes yourself, and only from the salon's own number, never from NailDesk's appointment number. Asking for texts about your visit is never a yes to offers.
How you agree
You get texts about your visits only if you ask for them: by checking in with your mobile number on the salon's iPad — a Check in without a number button is on the same screen, and checking in that way sends nothing — or by ticking Text me about my appointment when you book online. The wording is shown next to where you enter your number, and a copy of exactly what you were shown is kept with the date. Agreeing to receive messages is optional and never a condition of any purchase or service.
Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. We do not charge you for messages.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message and messages from that number will stop. Reply HELP for help. You can also ask the salon to stop at the counter, or contact us using the details below.
Your mobile information is never sold or shared. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who sends the messages
Texts about your visit are sent by NailDesk (Bao Le LLC) from NailDesk's own registered toll-free number, through a licensed telecommunications provider. Every message names NailDesk as the sender and the salon where your visit is. We write the messages and we hold the consent records; a STOP reply is honoured across NailDesk, not just for one salon.
How information is stored
Salon records are kept on the salon's own computer, with backups the salon controls. Where a salon uses our hosted services, information is stored in the United States.
How long records are kept
Records of your consent are kept while texts go to your number, plus four years; requests to stop texts, at least five years. If you ask the salon to remove your details, your name, number, email, birthday and notes are removed from your customer record; past visits, payments and texts already sent stay in the salon's records.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the software — for example a telecommunications provider that delivers text messages, or a payment processor — and only as much as they need. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
- Stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by asking the salon.
- Ask a salon to correct or delete your record. Salons may need to keep sales records for tax and accounting.
- Contact us with any question about this policy.
Children
NailDesk is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Consent already given is recorded with the wording shown at the time and is not changed by a later edit.
